Incline Track part 2

Here and there the brilliant green of a young rimu stands out

And here's our first bridge

There's another one just ahead. The trains travel about walking pace on bridges and in tunnels so it's easy enough to beat them to safety.

Nothing to say about the next one, really. Picture says it all.

There's some big ones, too.

The pipeline disappears off into a tunnel, and not just any tunnel.

This is the Lawrence Tunnel. Everything has a name in the Waitakeres. Except this track.

I poke my head in a few metres and discover a trodden pathway alongside the pipeline. It's a bit small for me, and probably full of cave wetas. I carry on along the track.

Out to the side the view is impressive, until I recall that I will be heading down to the bottom of this valley, and then up again.

And this looks like the end of Mr Nice Guy

Over to the left is the beginning of the next phase.
